Purpose: Hearth exists to make sustainability genuinely accessible to SMEs, because SMEs have a vital role to play in building a fairer, more sustainable economy from the ground up, one that's good for people, planet and long-term prosperity.
Hi, I'm Demi. I'm the founder of Hearth Sustainability, a Certified B Corporation™ with a score of 92.6, and an award-winning sustainability consultant with six years of sustainability experience and ten years in project management.
I draw on that experience to offer tailored strategies and practical, actionable steps that guide organisations on their unique sustainability journeys. I also co-chair B Local Brighton and co-founded Sussex Impact Pathway, a collaborative programme supporting groups of businesses through the B Corp assessment. As a Certified B Corporation, I'm proud to be part of a community of companies working together for change, and taking part in collective action to advocate for a shared goal of a global economy that benefits people and the planet.
Based in Brighton, I work with SMEs across Sussex and the UK, offering sustainability consultancy, B Corp certification support, and social value strategy aligned with the government's Social Value framework. The two biggest barriers for businesses wanting to become more sustainable are time and money. My consultancy tackles both: streamlining processes to make sustainability strategy and ESG improvement more efficient, affordable, and accessible for small businesses.
I've been an embedded Sustainability Manager and Consultant, leading 30+ businesses through B Corp certification and creating sustainability strategies across both service and manufacturing industries.
From founding a capital city arts festival rooted in ESG principles to wearing multiple hats at the National Museum of New Zealand, my journey reflects a passion for meaningful change and a deep commitment to our planet.
Fuelled by witnessing our world's beauty, the transformative power of climate marches and social justice movements, and the strength of the B Corp community, I believe sustainability consultancy goes beyond meeting standards. It's about driving genuine change at the intersection of social justice and environmental regeneration.
